krimpex office
the design of this office space is highly contextual to the nature of its business. the company historically created textiles, mostly silk using krimping and weaving techniques. we took this as a starting point in the design, with a heavy leaning towards craft, creating bespoke partitions with glass encasing threads in timber frames to be reminiscent of old textile looms, and a false ceiling design incorporating an installation of threads twisted between fluted wooden mouldings overhead. the mural in the directors cabin, the signage on the main door, and specially created artwork frames continue this theme. between these and the herringbone flooring, the threaded partitions, the timber wall cladding and the crisscrossing of threads in the ceiling, patterns are to be found everywhere.
